About Dr. Robert Donoway

Robert Donoway, MD, FACS continues to lead the way as the first surgeon in Florida to perform pancreatic and liver ablation therapy using NanoKnife® irreversible electroporation (IRE) and was the first oncology surgeon in Florida to perform cryoablation and radiofrequency ablation. At his practice, Atlas Oncology in Hollywood, Florida, Dr. Donoway offers cutting-edge cancer treatments together with the full range of cancer care.

Dr. Donoway received his medical degree and surgical training at the University of Pennsylvania. He went on to complete his fellowship in surgical oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where he was the General Motors Cancer Research Fellow. He’s also fellowship trained as a liver and pancreas surgical oncologist.

With a dedication to education, Dr. Donoway has taught on the faculty at the University of Pennsylvania, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, the University of Miami, and Nova Southeastern University.

Over the years, Dr. Donoway has remained actively involved in his profession, serving on numerous cancer committees and on the board of the American Cancer Society and Gilda’s Club. He proudly served as the Medical Director of the Memorial Cancer Institute, Chairman of the Cancer Committee for the Memorial Healthcare System, and as Chief of Surgery and Surgical Oncology at Memorial Regional in Hollywood.

Dr. Donoway is active in the Society of Surgical Oncology and the American Society of Breast Surgeons. He’s the recipient of the South Florida Health Award for the use of Micro-endoscopy for the detection of early-stage breast cancer.
